I slept in some, which now means around 7:45 in the morning. Colin decided he was ready to be up and playing around 6:30AM, so I'm glad my wife was gracious enough to let me sleep. I needed it after working on the pool yesterday; my muscles ache, my back aches, my legs ache, and I have scrapes all over my hands. We're not done yet, but it will be worth it once we are.
After church, I met up with my brother in law, who had been holding onto some shelves for me. He works with a plumbing supply company, and they were going to scrap them, so he saved one set for himself, and one for me. They're 8'x8', 2' deep, industrial grade, and really sturdy. Him giving them to me was one of the motivators for cleaning up the garage. Once he and I finished, I took my dad's truck back, which I had to borrow for transporting the shelves. My dad also had cleared out his closet, and had several clothes I could take if I wanted. What I took ended up filling a 13 gallon trash bag. He's got good taste in clothes, and always finds a bargain. Plus, working five days a week in the office kind of requires me to have some good clothes, and a little variety in them.
I finished the afternoon by studying my lines for the play for about an hour. I think I have the last scene down, and we'll see come rehearsal tomorrow.
The evening was spent playing "catch up" with all the tasks I would normally do in the afternoon. Ironing clothes, making my lunches, and prepping dinner for tomorrow night. I'm doing a pulled pork dish from scratch in the crock pot, and I mixed the sauce while Steph chopped the onions, just so I can dump it all in before we leave for the office in the morning.
And we bought another painting. I just finished the auction on eBay, but it was a really nice one that I'm glad to get. Steph and I decided we didn't really want anything more to do with the "stock art" seen in most stores, and we're really glad. Both that we own are original works of Florida landscapes, inspired by the style of the Florida Highwaymen. Unfortunately, works by the real Highwaymen are a little out of our price range, but it's the style I really love. If you're not familiar, do an image search online. It's really good stuff. The new painting should be here by the end of the week.
